Knowing God is as easy as knowing your ABC's.

A - Admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent, turning away from your sin. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23;Acts 3:19,
I John 1:9

B - Believe that Jesus Christ is God's Son and accept God's gift of forgiveness from sin. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:8-9, John 1:11-13.

C - Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Romans 10:9-10,13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

God's Promises

A young woman unbeliever asked, "Are you saying that because Christianity teaches that you don't need good works to get into heaven, that proves the claims made by Christianity are true and all other religions are wrong?"

He answered her, "Oh no. What I am trying to say is that God created a perfect world "In the beginning". Adam and Eve were perfect. They disobeyed God and ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. That brought sin into the world.

We lost Paradise. Sin, death, pain, disease, and so much more came to mankind in punishment.

The only way to "wash away" those sins, and those that came later in other generations was to have a pure and perfect sacrifice to God.

Jesus Christ was born of a virgin ( purity ) as the Son of God in the flesh and became that "Lamb of God" on the cross. The recent DVD movie "Passion of the Christ" puts into perspective what his mission was on this earth.

The full wrath of God came down on Him for our sins. The only way to avoid our just punishment is to accept Him as Lord, Master, and Savior. Confess our sins, be baptized, and lead a good life.

The good works start 'counting then' as treasure in heaven. We press on towards the goal of the Kingdom of God as we proclaim the gospel and the Great Commission.

Jesus told us to "love one another".

If we truly love one another, we will be concerned about the salvation of others.

I sincerely hope that helps. Without a pure sacrifice, we can not have eternal life with God.
